The year 2025 is full of unexpected crossovers and unexpected happenings. The election in America in which Trump won was with the support of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk.
But the time changes with this saying: we are now witnessing a jaw-jaw war between both the capitalists.
What Is Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill”?
A new Republican bill aims to extend the 2017 Trump-era tax cuts, boost spending on border security and the military, and reduce funding for key social programs. The legislation combines tax breaks, spending increases, and safety net cuts into one large package, Al Jazeera reported.
The main goal is to make most of the tax cuts permanent, ahead of their scheduled expiration at the end of 2025. It also includes funding for energy projects and major investments in defense and the southern border.
Inside the $3.3 Trillion Gamble
According to estimates, the bill would increase the national debt by around $3.3 trillion over the next 10 years. The U.S. government already owes $36.2 trillion.
Research from Yale University’s Budget Lab suggests that wealthier Americans will benefit the most. The lowest-income households could see their incomes fall by 2.5%, mainly due to cuts in programs like SNAP and Medicaid, while the richest are expected to see gains of around 2.2%.
The Billionaire Problem: Musk’s Fury Over EV Cuts and Broken Promises
Elon Musk has publicly criticized Donald Trump’s proposed “One Big Beautiful Bill,” saying it hurts the future of clean technology and directly impacts his companies, including Tesla and SpaceX. One of Musk’s main objections is the proposed removal of the $7,500 tax credit for electric vehicles — a policy that helped make Tesla cars more affordable. Without it, Musk warns, EV sales could take a hit.
He also pushed for Starlink internet funding and greater involvement in NASA-related decisions, but those requests were left out of the bill. Musk believes promises were made to him — and then ignored. The bill’s increased support for fossil fuels like oil and coal is another point of tension. Musk sees this as a major setback for green energy and America’s long-term sustainability goals.
Beyond the environmental concerns, Musk also criticized the bill’s size and cost, warning it would further increase the national debt. He didn’t hold back on social media, where he slammed the legislation and even hinted at funding candidates who would oppose Trump’s plan.
The rift marks a sharp break between the president and one of the world’s most prominent tech entrepreneurs — and could signal deeper divisions ahead over the future of innovation and climate policy in the U.S.
Can Musk Break the GOP? Or Build His Own Party?
“Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame! And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth,” he wrote on his social media platform, X.
A few hours later he added that if the “insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day.” But seeing the situation from a critical lens, it would be obviously difficult for the millionaire to create a party, and ultimately it works in a sustainable manner.
Ultimately the bill is an indication of Trump’s neo-right policies. It’s a war between two capitalists, each driven by their own profit motives. The question is about the common people because ultimately they are on the lower side and in the backseat.
